Grading · Authentication · Encapsulation
We do not give opinions. We calibrate.
Latin America's grading house for collectible cards. A scale published before it is applied, a process traceable card by card, and a slab that cannot be opened without showing it.
01 The name
A word that already means this
- aferirverb, es / pt
- To check an instrument against the standard, to confirm it measures true.
It is the verb weights-and-measures offices have used, in Spanish and in Portuguese, for centuries. An instrument that is aferido is an instrument you can rely on.
That is exactly what a grade has to be: the same today, tomorrow, and on the other side of the continent. Not an opinion. A measurement checked against a standard anyone can read.
02 The scale
Published before it is applied
We would rather the scale be argued over before it touches your card. Ten points, four criteria, and the rule that the final grade can never exceed the lowest criterion.
03 The process
Five steps, all on the record
Intake
Every card gets an identifier on arrival. Nothing is mixed, nothing becomes an anonymous batch.
Authentication
Before any grade, we confirm the card is what it claims to be. If it is not, it gets no grade.
Measurement
Four independent sub-grades. The final one is derived from them, not the other way round.
Encapsulation
Sealed, tamper-evident slab. Opening it leaves a visible mark, and that is the whole point.
Registry
The certificate stays verifiable online by its number, permanently.
04 The slab
Isolate without hiding
Amber has been doing this job for millions of years: sealing something away from air and time while leaving it perfectly visible.
A slab has to do both at once. Protect properly, and not get in the way of reading what it protects. If we have to choose between a beautiful slab and one that shows when it has been forced, we take the second.
05 Coverage
Six markets, three languages
We start regional, not national. The same scale and the same certificate number mean the same thing in Buenos Aires, in São Paulo, and on the international resale market.

Before we open
We have not graded anything yet. When we open, the people on this list hear about it first.
